Nevada can't stop SMU as Ponies take 31-0 lead in first half

Wow. Who would've predicted this?
SMU's first bowl game in 25 years has been ALL SMU since the opening kick.
QB Kyle Padron just completed his second touchdown pass of the day. He rolled out and then shot a 2-yard pass into Cole Beasley, waiting just along the sideline.
It's 31-0 SMU with 1:09 to play.
To be fair to Nevada, it lost its defensive coordinator two weeks ago to the head coaching job at Portland State. But this is the by far the best SMU's offense has looked all season, it looks more like June Jones' true Run and Shoot and it's perhaps a sign of what's ahead in 2010.
SMU's defense has completely shut down the nation's top-ranked rushing attack. Yes, the Wolf Pack is missing two of its three 1,000-yard rushers, but SMU's pursuit and tackling have been impressive. This is the biggest lead SMU has held all season. The Mustangs that have made close games their calling card - all but one of their seven wins was by eight points or less - is blowing Nevada out.
